Bible studies resume in January

14_bibleverse

The cornerstone of our Women’s Ministry is our Bible studies.  We believe that we only think and behave rightly as we are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit as He applies the truth of Scripture to our hearts. Our desire is that every woman be involved in Bible study, therefore we offer in-depth studies as well as low-prep ones.

Our women’s Bible studies are a great way to connect with other women and fellowship with one another!  All of our Bible studies meet at East Cobb Presbyterian Church. Preschool childcare is available for Wednesday morning classes.

Classes will resume in January. See details below for start date of each study. Newcomers are welcome! If you did not attend one of our fall studies and will be joining us for one of the spring studies, please email Judy using the form below.

Spring 2015 studies

Tuesday evening study:

Romans (NavPress Life Change Series)
(resuming January 13)
In Romans, the Apostle Paul unfolds God’s way to righteousness—how we can be reconciled to God and transformed into the people He means us to be. Sin, salvation, grace, death, and resurrection—no other biblical book illumines so many classic, life-changing truths.

This Bible study on the book of Romans will help you understand the book’s historical context, purpose, structure, and meaning and apply its powerful, relevant wisdom to your needs and issues.

This 20 week study began in the fall and will continue into the spring semester. Preparation time is about 1.5 hours per week (about 15 minutes a day).

Classes meet Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30 weekly and are led by Debbie Robinson and Teressa Bracca. (No childcare is available for this evening class.)

Study guide cost: $9

Wednesday morning studies:

Genesis (NavPress Life Change Series)
(resuming January 14)
The first book of God’s revelation to man is a book of beginnings. God creates the heavens, the earth, man and woman. But rebellion breaks out, and God begins the task of mending His relationship with mankind.

This Bible study on the events that unfold in the extraordinary book of Genesis shows how this book gives form to the entire Bible, right to the end of Revelation and God’s plan for a new beginning.

This 20 week study began in the fall and will continue into the spring semester. Preparation time is about 1.5 hours per week (about 15 minutes a day).

Classes meet Wednesday mornings from 9:45-11:45 a.m. weekly and are led by Becky Loechl, Judy Marek, and Millie Miles.

Study guide cost: $9

Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver
(beginning January 7)
The life of a woman today isn’t really all that different from that of Mary and Martha in the New Testament. Like Mary, you long to sit at the Lord’s feet…but the daily demands of a busy world just won’t leave you alone. Like Martha, you love Jesus and really want to serve him…yet you struggle with weariness, resentment, and feelings of inadequacy. Then comes Jesus, right into the midst of your busy Mary/Martha life–and he extends the same invitation he issued long ago to the two sisters of Bethany. Tenderly he invites you to choose “the better part”–a joyful life of “living-room” intimacy with him that flows naturally into “kitchen service” for him.

Classes meet Wednesday mornings from 9:45-11:45 a.m. weekly and are led by Kathy Arasmith, Debbie Locke and Rhoda Owens.

Study guide cost $11
